Cinders (a zine)
A zine about transformation
I’m Keila, a perpetual weird art kid. Formless consciousness floating in the eternal now.
Welcome to the Bone Folder Press zine library. I share my zines in this format periodically as I do them.
The nights are getting longer. I’ve been yearning to spend time by the fire under the stars. Earlier in the year, I burned down my life as I knew it to live on the road. As the year is coming to an end, I’m thinking about the cleansing nature of fire and what it means to burn true. Staying warm.
Shout out to Mandy van Pelt (give her a follow) for the wonderful inspiration to use a label maker. I enjoyed this zine she made for her partner.
The process for making this zine was pretty fluid. I made it by stapling together some sturdy paper into a booklet and collaging on top of that. It’s a fun way to get started on a zine before you 100% know what it’s going to be about.

I love that you use that textured recycled green paper material! I have a bunch of those too, and it's so satisfying seeing all the fibers, especially when ripped🏕️🔥
Love it! 🤍 And the label marker 😍
